Useless payment system and useless Customer "Service"
provided you have money in your "account" purchasing is fine and I have not had a problem since using Royal Mint September 2021. BUT the transfer od money to the account is a nightmare! If I transfer mony using Faster Payments transfer it takes five days to be credited. bear in mind it is usually INSTANT and at most two hours this is disgusting. If I use my Debit card from the Royal Mint end my bank will stop the payment and I have to spent an hour and a half on the phone getting the payment released!
Nightmare Over
I finally received a response from customer service (cs) about delivery but had to figure out that the tracking number was USPS and not DHL. The correct Britannia coin finally arrived and I am pleased with it. Royal Mint leadership responded to my letter about cs by saying they would investigate. CS needs to be more responsive to troubled customers, especially for “big ticket” items. Also, I think the customer would be better served if only 1 or 2 people were assigned to the issue rather than a new person each day. Glad for final resolution.

Absolutely disgusted with the…
Absolutely disgusted with the procedures imposed by The Royal Mint. I was considering investing in gold bullion. You have to deposit monies into your account first in order to make an investment, it does state the you can withdraw at any time without penalties. I made a deposit and then on consideration I submitted a withdrawal notice. Firstly I was told because my address and the delivery address were different I needed to supply proof of bank account. I was then told it 'match, which it did and perhaps I could change my bank account address. Really it was like dealing with children. Once submitting that I now need to send passport and utility bill documents. Its an absolute farce what that make you do to simply pay the money back into the same account you deposited from. If I was asking to withdraw it to another account I could understand, but this is insane. Do not invest unless you are 100% sure

Really pleased I checked here first as I was going to invest in the Digigold Service but will go elsewhere having read all the issues people are experiencing with RM and their site.
Ordered coins without issue
I purchased a few of coins from the Royal Mint website in June 2022.I am UK based and was able to add funds and buy without issue. I would prefer to just pay by Direct Debit card as with Bullion by Post instead of having an account however, the order went through okay and arrived within three days by Royal Mail Special Delivery, it was correct and well packaged. Despite other people having problems with Royal Mint my experience was good with no problems placing the order or delivery. I have used them twice now without issue.

Abysmal Customer Service and communication
In the beginning I had only positives with DigiGold from the Royal Mint. Then in late April I began having issues with purchasing. Just kept getting an error code ( like lots of others have been complaining about. I have not been able to add funds for 2 months.
I Decided to withdraw most of my holdings. That’s when the REAL trouble began.
Made a withdrawal request on 27th of May. Received an email confirming that my funds would be transferred to my bank shortly.
On 31 of May, received an email saying “that something went wrong with my request and I would have to make a new request. So I did initiate a new request. I received an email saying that my funds would be transferred into my bank shortly.
On 3rd of June received another message that my 2nd request had failed and to make a new request. So I did.
I received the same email stating that my request was received and that the funds would be in my bank shortly.
I decide to follow up with an email and was told finally that I needed to send a copy of my bank’s statement, I sent a copy but the DigiGold people could not open it. So with about 5 emails back and forth I sent it about 4 different ways and asked if they could see any of the formats I sent. 3 days later on the 6 th of June I finally received an email stating that they received my bank statement and that they were sending the request to the “finance team”. And that it would take 5 working days or maybe longer. Ok I waited 8 working days, then I sent off a message asking if they could follow up and check on it. They were nice and wrote “ sent it to the finance team, we will contact you if there are any problems”so you guys sent it to the finance team twice? Or did you just neglect to send it at all the first time. That was on the 16th of June. It is now the 22nd of June. Still no acknowledgment that it was received or it’s in process, etc. TERRIBLE customer service and communication. It is almost a Month since I started this process. ( on the 26th of MAY )
You repeatedly mention 5 working days.
I had high hopes for the Royal Mint having a very professional organization. I do not recommend these guys to anyone.
There are many other choices for unallocated bullion. I use 3 others they are all way more effective than these guys. I would mention my favorite but I don’t think they would post this if I did.
If you don’t have enough frustration or challenges in your life then give these guys your money. Just don’t be in a hurry to get it back.
UPDATE July 14, 2022
I am Still getting nothing but excuses. I contact them at least once a week. They keep blaming different departments. Just thought I would give an update. I will add more information when they resolve this.

Omnishambles
Been buying coins for years from the RM, the problems with the website started around 3 years ago when they junked the old fashioned but working website for the omnishambles we have to use now. It has got better, they removed the duplicate orders, gave us a functioning more details button ( although the more details still doesn’t contain up to date eta data, just “dispatching soon” and still no cancel button ) but hey we RM customers are nothing if not long suffering. Now they seem to have mucked it up again. They seem to have updated the payment pages and for me and and a few others it is causing problems when using card payments. Normally online you submit your card details and you then get the bank authorising page where it will, depending on card, say it’s sent you a code via sms, or your banking app etc, you wait for the sms put the code in and your purchase is authorised, easy peasy. With the RM website I put my card details in, press transmit and wait expecting the banks authorisation page, except I don’t get it, a couple of seconds later I get an error saying missing SCA code, ie the bank has declined it because of the absence of a code I couldn’t get because I didn’t get the authorisation page in the first place. After trying 4 different visa cards I rang the card issuers and they all said it was a problem related to RM website so I emailed RM they completely ignored the fact that the card issuers all said it was their fault and told me to riding the bank get the code over the phone and complete my purchase. Yeah really helpful, After a few email exchanges they are still adamant it’s not them. I eventually got my coin by purchasing it over the phone, so there was no need for SCA code. Given their websites form, my gut feeling is it is them, but I’m just piggy in the middle here with the card issuers saying one thing and RM another, but Royal Mint’s whole operation seems in disarray at the moment, it took 3 months to get The. FA coin, I purchased, out of them, so long that the code they got when preauthorising my card at purchase date, became invalid and they had to take my card details again. My brother is still waiting for his FA cup coin 2 months late but promised by end of month, not holding my breath on that one, as I said earlier Royal Mint customers are long suffering.

I've been waiting for almost a week for…
I've been waiting for almost a week for a replacement. I brought a 5g gold bar from the royal mint, to celebrate the Platinum jubilee. I was very excited to purchase from the Royal Mint, had such high hopes. I've been left in the dark as to where my order has gone. I spoke to an advisor a few days ago, about my 5g gold bar replacement, she spoke to her manager, and advised me that they will send a priority order out to the team in the dispatch. Presumably meaning that it will be sped up. I've still heard absolutely nothing. The original 5g bar I received was dented, had two scratches on, and was in appalling condition. They're happy to take your money, but not happy to provide a product as a replacement. All I want is my 5g gold bar, to give to my neice.
I am absolutely heart broken by this service. I feel like an awful uncle.
Edit: been waiting all day since 9am. No tracking from DHL. Only "we have your parcel out for delivery" in the space of me going to the toilet and sitting waiting at the front door, the DHL man posted a note through the door, no knocking, nothing. Then just drove off. So I've wasted an entire day sitting around doing nothing.
I am sick to death of this experience.
I've tried making payments for days!
I've tried making payments for days to fund my account, using both debit card and bank transfer - nothing works. truly terrible website - especially for such organisation. I'll give it a couple of more tries -then look for somewhere to invest my money.

Terrible service
Due to their appalling website I got the wrong coin. They won't just exchange it, you have to go through the process again. No thanks.

Been buying now for 6 years. The website yes can be a little frustrating but general the product and delivery has been fine. Really surprised on others reviews, could it be I only buy Character gifts for niece and nephew in America?

I buy items online regularly from many different sites. But it is impossible to make payments on the Royal Mint site. Kept saying error. I have a normal visa card and have no problems using it anywhere else.
Lots of positives
I wanted to write a review for some balance. I agree that the website is difficult to negotiate but I think I have worked it out now. Most of my orders were tracked and delivered well. There was one Christmas order (2020) which was in stock when ordered but then did not arrive for nearly a month after I had contacted customer services. I was anxious about the Christmas presents and my money but was met with an unsympathetic and unhelpful advisor who kept repeating that they would arrive but not when or explain the hold-up or even apologise. I do trust the company and use digigold monthly and have had no problem adding funds or withdrawing them. The fees for the vault storage were reasonable and I get an invoice by email. Overall I am very satisfied with my interactions with the company.
